LCDR Sharai Elko is a Victims' Legal Counsel in San Diego, California.
LCDR Elko received a bachelor of arts in International Affairs and a minor in French from the George Washington University in 2005. Following graduation, LCDR Elko completed a yearlong Fulbright Scholar teaching fellowship in Perpignan, France. In 2007 she earned a master's degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Before attending law school, LCDR Elko spent several years as a business management consultant for the Department of Homeland Security. She received a juris doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2013. LCDR Elko commissioned on 4 April 2012 through the Student Program.
She previously served as the Staff Judge Advocate at Commander, Submarine Squadron 11 in San Diego, California and as the Staff Judge Advocate at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling in Washington, DC. LCDR Elko completed the First Tour Judge Advocate program at the Region Legal Service Office Naval District Washington and the Defense Service Office North in December 2015.
